Burnett Youth Learning Centre (BYLC) is a registered Special Assistance School providing individualised education, vocational learning, and wellbeing support for young people in Years 7–12.
Our small class sizes, dedicated staff, and well-equipped facilities create a supportive learning environment where students build confidence, develop practical skills, and achieve meaningful outcomes.

BYLC supports young people who may benefit from a smaller, more supportive learning environment or a flexible, individualised approach to education. We work closely with students, families, schools, and support professionals to determine whether BYLC is the right fit and to help each young person achieve their goals.

Learning Beyond the Classroom
Learning at BYLC extends well beyond the classroom. Students take part in practical, work-related learning experiences and build connections with the local community, alongside adventure-based outdoor activities that build confidence.
Together, these experiences help students develop the life skills and independence they need beyond school.

Preparing for Life Beyond School
We help students plan their next steps through career development and transition planning, with a focus on real employment pathways and further education and training.
This includes support to access external providers such as TAFE and CQUniversity, so students leave with a clear, practical plan for life after BYLC.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Learning at BYLC extends well beyond the classroom. Students take part in practical, work-related learning experiences and build connections with te local community, alongside adventure-based outdoor activities that build confidence.
Together, these experiences help students develop the life skills and independence they need beyond school.
